    Manchester Clients

Hi to all the clients we cared for and helped over the last 6 years, and also to those clients we wanted to help in the future. It was such a shock and I am still realling from it, not only to have to tell the staff and clients of what had happened. I know everyone at Manchester cared so much, as we talk to each other over the last few days we keep coming up with names and families we keep thinking about. I so wish we had the chance to say goodbye and inform you in person as we have worked so close with you all. Anyone needing exercises should visit Dore home page and click on my dore for further information and exercises. I have lost the best job ever but if anyone wants to keep in touch it will always be my privaledge to keep in touch, the clients have never stopped amazing me of their talents and skills. I wish anyone who knew me and the team at Manchester well and bless you all.

    Sue (always a friend)

    Hi Sue,

It was lovely to see that some of the staff have involved themselves on the message boards- especially you. My 12 year old son Toby Skeats-Jones started the programme in Manchester in July 07 and is doing really well, he was due to see you again on tuesday (27/05/08) for his 6th follow up visit. Alas this didn't happen!! What a shock to receive the e mail the Friday before! To jog your memory of  Toby (because I know you used to see so many), on his last visit on 1st April we brought his friend Scott with us because they are both off to Army cadet camp in the summer holidays and Scott is going to help him do his exercises whilst away. Really do hope that we see you again! Toby was at ease with you during his appts and liked a chat!

Give my regards to Danielle,Colleen, Chrissie and Emma(reception) if you are in touch!

My son visited Manchester for his 3rd follow up on the 22nd May, the day before it was announced.

We were so shocked but the staff we had the pleasure to deal with were fantastic. He always felt at ease and enjoyed his visits.

    Thank you x

Hi Sue and all the staff in the centre,

I just wanted say thank you to all the staff in the centre, ye were absolutely fantastic. I am one of the lucky ones that got to complete the programme, well almost, i have just completed my weaning off exercises and was due to come to manchester from Co.Kerry Ireland for my final assesement on the 19th of June with Colleen. I was deeply upset when i heard the news, not only because i wouldnt have my last appointment but more so for all the clients who haven't completed the programme yet. The Dore Programme was the best thing i have ever did, i always saw it as the light at the end of the tunnel for Dyslexic/Dysphaxic people. it truely saved me! I have come so far in the time i have been on the programme, I did a brillant Leaving Cert (Irish exams), I got into university and I am now a more confident outgoing person, for that i will always be greatful to staff in the Dore Centre and to Wynford Dore, what he has achieved is something unbelievable and he has completely changed the way dyslexic is looked at by society. I wish all the staff in Dore Centre the best of luck for the future and I hope and pray that we havent heard the last of The Dore Programme because so many more people need saving like I did!

    Many Thanks

    Re: Manchester Clients

Dear Sue and all the staff at Manchester.  I dont know if you will remember my son McKinley, he came to the centre just over 18 months and did so well and on his last visit was given the 3 week winding down exercises and we are due back next week for his final appointment and to be given a certificate.  He is quite upset that this will not be happening and so am I and really wanted to be able to come and tell you all THANK YOU for helping him over the last two years and I was going to bring in some chocolates for all of you from him.  I will always tell people how good the Dore programme was and how amazing Wynford was to set this up and have such wonderful dedicated staff to help him.  McKinley is a different boy and has gone from the shy, misunderstood and frustrated little boy he was to a bright, confident (sometimes too confident) happy and content 11 year old and always says that the dore programme was hard but the best thing he ever did.  Again please accept our gratitude to you all and hope that this is only a temporary blip.  I wish you all the best.

    Thanks to all of you.

Lesley we did not have certificates when Leila finished she got a little cuddly bear instead, but the certificates are a good idea, there must be a way for Mckinley to get one, "if there is a will there is a way"!!!!!.

Maybe somebody from Dore could help a little boy to get his wish, I hope so. Ellie XXX

I think i have replied to this, but I have spoken to McKinley and he is ok about not getting a certificate, he said he definitely doesn't want a cuddly bear (he is 11 now and too old for teddies!, so he says).  I think we will have to accept that this is the end of the road for us at Dore and hope that they can sort something out and help out all those other children that need the help our children have had.  I know it worked for McKinley and he is doing amazingly well, his tutor cannot believe the change in him and he is a lot more confident, self assured, happy and healthy boy.

On behalf of our son Matthew, and of course ourselves, may we take this opportunity to thank everyone at Manchester for everything you have done for Matthew.  The differences in Matthew since he began the course are fantastic.  As Matthew was approaching the end of his course, we feel for those that had, or were about to start at the Dore Programme.  We hope that somehow this programme, or something similar, will once again be able to benefit those with learning difficulties.  Our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Manchester and the Dore organisation, we will miss our trips down to Manchester, from Sharon, Graham and Matthew Duggan.

    Hi All

Just to let you know that McKinley received his certificate a couple of weeks ago and it has pride of place on our fridge alongside his citizen of the week certificates from school!  He was very happy and very proud and read the compliment slip that came with it no problem!  In fact even now I am noticing more changes.  Much more fluent in his reading and writing, all his spellings right and maths amazing!  Plus he is due to start high school in september and spent a day there last week and was not at all nervous and actually quite cocky for him!!!  I am not worrying now at all about him starting high school and coping with the work!!     Thank you to all the Dore staff at Manchester and whoever it was who arranged the certificate Thank You.
