Over before it began for us

hello, I'm new on the site today, my son (15 and desperate) was due for his first assessment at Bedford on Tues 27th, 8am -the first after the bank holiday? Yesterday I got the phone call to say not to come, and was so gutted for my son that I quite forgot to commiserate with the Dore employee for his job...we are losing much more than the deposit money, the chance for our son to gain some of the benefits that seemed to be possible before yesterday. So frustrating to be so close to a solution to so many difficulties, then have it snatched away. My great sympathy to all the parents and children affected by this.

Welcome Denise I thank you for your sentments, I and many others are hoping that there will be a solution to this. The treatment gives our children the potential they so much want and need, the thought of it disappearing completely does not bare thinking about. Ellie XXX

I have just spent the last 2 hours in tears.  I cannot bear the thought that Patrick may not be able to complete the course.  Best of luck to Wynford and all his family and staff.  Please do everything in your power to let the children who have started finish.  I am dreading having to tell Patrick that he may not be able to continue.  Even if it means just communicating by phone and having extra exercises sent to us.  xxx

    Hi Denise and Patricksmum,

It is such a shock but it's not over yet. Lets give Wynford a chance to sort something out for us. I know he cares deeply about every one of our children. Keep watching for news and in the meantime use this forum to support each other.  Keep your chin up and try to stay positive

My daughter has also just enrolled (first assessemnt next week) in Barbados.  I understand your anguish, thoguh we are not in the same position at all.  How long is Patrick into the Programme.  maybe we can get some support from PS personnel who are blogginga nd they can help you through the next couple of days/weeks until things have been resolved....which they will.  with all the love in my heart and all the faith in my Novenas (I am a Catholic).... I know that change is coming.  Wynford is not one to throw in the towel.. and the winds of change will turn.  Let's put an APB out there now for PSers who we know care so much for their clients, to form their own blog called "PS - I Love YOU"... Just a thought for all and any who are reading this....

Hi Lloyd... you, me and Spongebob live in a Pineapple under the Sea...

Would you start the PS I love you???

As to us in Barbados, we are fully operational and eager to help out however, wherever we can.  We are only a flight away and have mad eprovisions to service anyone who maybe able to travel here for assessments.  And yes, as long as we are able, we will make the difference.  Our best to you, and thank you for making a difference in this universe.  We will continue to do so to the absolute best of our ability.

With warm love from the sunny isle of Barbados, and Dore Caribbean.... xxA

Lloyd it is gratifying to see you on the forum, I am so sorry for you and all of those at Romsey and just hope with all my heart that this is not the end but a beginning of something new for Dore. I wish you well and hope that we see you again in happier circumstances. My vibs still tell me that Dore is not over yet, only time will tell. Ellie XXX

UK people were not in the same position as the Australians when the news broke. Now they are.

And so do I.  For more reasons than two, I keep my hopes up, we are still open and operational, and I project that my daughter will be in a position to have her assessment on Wed.  I can only imagine what you are all going thru.

Re: Over before it began for us

Hi I am also new to site today and have never done this before so please be patient! I am absolutely gutted at the news today. My son has only been on the programme since the end of May 2008, but the difference in him is remarkable! His reading has improved dramatically as has other areas of his school work but most of all his confidence is great. He was due for a follow up appointment on the 9th June. Do you think he will be able to continue? I have no idea. Also, I am concerned about the payments. Has anyone got any advice? We paid for the initial assesment in full but then took out a credit agreement for 12 monthly payments of just over £156.00 a month. The first one being due on the 1st June. Do I still pay or do I get hold of the finance people and explain what has happened. I would much rather my son could carry on with the programme as the results are really great for such a short time. Any advice would be brilliant
