    Hi Everyone,

Hi all, My 5 yr old grandson has just been diagnosed with Dysplaxia and I thought I would look up this condition online and came up with this forum. Im a nurse myself and was ashamed to say I had never heard of it. He's a lovely affectionate child except he's a bit boistrous and  likes to be the centre of attention. His mum is beside herself as he can be a handful at times. The teachers at school noticed his behaviour and passed it on to my daughter who in turn went to her Health Visitor. I hope by joining this forum that I can learn a bit more about it and chat with others who kids have the same condition.

    Re: Hi Everyone,

Hi Coogran! Feel free to read about, and ask any questions. My son completed Dore in February, and is doing fine.  Dore has helped many children with dyspraxia. I wish it were around when I was young, as I am dyspraxic myself. I still tie my shoes with bunny ears, I could never get tying a bow!  :-)

    Re: Hi Everyone,

Hi Coolgran - my son was diagnosed with ADHD, but the school felt he had traits of dyspraxia too. We went through the usual route of trying to find answers, getting him tested and visits to our local Health Centre for Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and finally a Paediatrician who diagnosed him with ADHD. In the end, the only help we could get was to medicate, which I was reluctant to do. We decided to give Dore a go, and if it didn't work, would look again at the medication. I am pleased to say that the programme has given us a lifeline. Harry is now a very confident young man, and doing well academically - catching up with his classmates, making great strides personally. More importantly, he is happy and content.

    Re: Hi Everyone,

Hi Coolgran My daughter Leila had global difficulties prior to Dore and dyspraxic tendencies were apart of those problems. She was never disgnosed with a learning difficulty because of her low IQ, Dore changed all that she finished the treatment in October 2005 and she has no global issues left including the dypraxic tendencies, she is a normal 13 year old girl. Ellie mum to Leila 2 years post Dore who is now finally able to learn on a par with her peers at school and Kieran aged 7 commenced Dore 7th January 2008
