Hi Vron most of what you are waiting for seem to come about in the mental tasks, being able to listen to the children while doing something else expecially, Leila's short term memory also developed along the same time.
You say your mood patterns have leveled out since you started Dore is showing a start, I always tell mothers to look for the little thigs first that they are apt to miss or did not even realise were part of their childs problems and it is the same for adults as well.
I always look at it that the first stage of the treatment is to sort out the coping strategies that have been built up over the years to cope with your difficulties. This involves areas like balance and co-ordination, once these are stable and the posturgraph assessments show stability within the green, then you usually commence the mental tasks.
This is the second and final phase of the treatment where all that you have gained so far is brought together. The mentals will finally allow you to multi task which is what you are looking for, but also be able to finally learn within your true potential.
Be aware Vron that you will have to help the process as well, the children are learning at school all the time we as adults are no longer in the class room so we have to aid our own developement in the areas of learning we have missed out on
for all the years since leaving school. Do you see what I mean the treatment cannot teach us something which we have never fully learned before.
Dore WILL give you the abiltiy though Vron to learn without the difficulties that hindered you for most of your life. Reading is the first thing that you can do by reading books, magazines etc regularly. This helps to kick start the ability to finally spell, if you can recognise a written word then eventually you will find it easier to spell it. This will also help you with understanding forms etc mind you the language they use these days can anyone really understand or descipher what they mean!!!!! Hee Hee
In other words the Dore treatment is like putting the pieces of the puzzle together to produce a whole picture once that is complete you are able to build on it and finally learn as you should be able to do without the learning difficulties which hindered you pre Dore.
I would be a good example here I had to give up my honours degree because I could not understand or write to degree level, since then I have found out I was dyslexic at the age of 47. I need Dore but even when I have completed the treatment I know I will not be able just to go back into my degree I will have to go back to college first and learn how to write at degree level, I know that it will be a lot easier this time, I will no longer be hindered by my dyslexia or the cerebellum development delay which had prevented me from learning fully. Hope this helps Ellie XXX
