    Re: Hi to all,

Hi Cate, welcome to the forum. My daughter, Laura, is 10 and has been on the programme since June last year. How is Jamie getting on with the exercises?

Keep us posted. There is a lot of support on this forum if you need it. Good luck!

    Re: Hi to all,

Hi Cate welcome to the forum, Kieran who is 7 has been doing Dore since January 2008 and his sister Leila finished in October 2005. What issues has Jamie got that sent you to Dore?

Leila had global issues which included traites of autism prior to Dore, Kieran's difficulties mainly involve reading, writing and spelling as well as co-ordination and balance difficulties. Ellie XXX

We are all settling into the Dore programme. Jamie has Dyslexia and some behavioural issues that showed up during her initial assessment (we knew the behavioural issues were there just didn't think they were linked together). We thought it was just us...... but the behaviour seems to go hand in hand with the dyslexia. She has moments of clarity where every thing makes sense and times where nothing gets through, no matter how hard she tries. She would really like a bf (best friend) and she has no problem making friends. She just can't keep a relationship that intense going. We want to see an improvement in her reading and her social skills. Although ANY improvement would be great.

     p.s. Can't spell sorry!

    Re: Hi to all,

Hi Cate Many of us can relate to our children having episodes where they cannot seem to comprehend anything. All part of the fog as I came to call it, Leila was permanently in it which to me was her autistic traite. Dore do get rid of this permanently as they progress through the treatment.

Social skills can be so difficult for them expecially when they find it difficult to relate to what their friends are saying and they are so much aware that they feel different from their peers because of those difficulties. I have always said if they can help Leila they can help anyone as she had everything going against her prior to Dore. She is now a normal teenager with none of the problems which marred her younger years. You have come to the right place Cate. Ellie XXX

    Ellie

Thanks for your support. I am looking forward to not having to edit Jamies life, trying to tell her what is the right comment to make or when to laugh. Humour seems difficult for her to understand. Reading your comments gives me hope.Smile

    THANKS Cate xXx

    Re: Hi to all,

Hi Cate & Brian, My son has just finished the program after just over two years, it's kind of wierd not having to do exersises anymore, having to do them really does become part of routine. It does get eaiser as time goes on. We've seen amazing results with Thomas. Good luck & make them fun!!               Catherinexxx
