    can anyone help me?

hey i am a 19 year old girl who has strugled with dyslexia from a child. someone from the dore program came out to my house to talk me through it and i really really want to correct it but the amount that it costs is really putting me off. my family and partner have all told me that they would help me to pay for it but it is a lot of money. when i have spoke to friends about it they dont seem to think it is genuine and that it defo shouldnt cost that much. if anyone has got any advice or help please please let me no.

Hi Kelsey, all I can say is that Dore is very genuine and if Dyslexia is blighting your life I would seriously consider taking the help offered. My mum and Dad helped us out financially and we will be eternally grateful to them. They were only to pleased to help and love the improvements they are seeing in their grandson so far. It seems easy for me to get my 9 yr old to do his exercises as I am a committed mum, it requires commitment which is character building in itself. This new site would see you through any rough times. Did you see the Scot Quinell programme? It's available on the Dore site it is very informative.

Let us know what you decide

    Best wishes

    Hi Kelsey,

I too really struggled throughout my childhood with Dyslexia. I went through the Dore programme when it first began and have since gone from strength to strength. The cost of the programme is quite expensive but this is based on your individual needs. If you would like any additional support then do ask.

When you believe you can you will

    Re: can anyone help me?

Hi Kelsey, My just turned 11 year old son has been on the Dore programme for about 17 months. He was struggling primarily with dyslexia. He exhibited some attentional issues and was okay with gross motor coordination (not a star athlete but could play team sports). His fine motor skills were very weak so printing and tying shoe laces were tough. He has made outstanding gains. He is a much more able athlete which is a nice byproduct of the program. He can tie his shoes and his printing has improved. He is calmer, reads social cues better, modulates his activity level more appropriately and so I am hoping will have better success concentrating at school this year. The biggest (and best!) improvement we have seen is in reading. Last fall he was struggling to read grade 3 material and is now reading grade 6 novels with pleasure and enjoyment!!!!!! We also saw a big improvement in his ability to get his thoughts on paper. He was able to write an 11 page story - good plot, good variety of sentence structure etc. Spelling as of June was still a major issue. We aren't quite finished the program yet and we are hopeful that the improvements that have started in that area will continue to improve. It is a big price tag. My parents helped to pay and our cost is much higher because we fly from Canada for our assessments and stay in a hotel. (The travel is costing us much more than the program.) Every penny has been worth it for the change it has made in my son's life. They assess you at the beginning and will tell you if it looks as if the program can't help you. The assessment is part of the cost but if your scores don't show that the program can help you, you don't need to pay any more. Good luck with your decision. MaggieF

    Re: can anyone help me?

Hey Kelsey, i'm a 21 year old lad that is currently on the dore programme ( i started on the 13th of october 2006 and due to finish on the 13th of october 2007). I can honestly say, despite my initial skepticism, that the dore programme really does work! My parents paid for it for me as 1.I couldn't afford it and 2. They were sick of seeing me struggling with life and not knowing what was up with me. I have seen various doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists etc and they gave me all sorts of labels: ocd, dyslexia, adhd blah blah blah and i have been on all types of medication and tried to change my diet and exercise regularly, none of it worked for me at all really, perhaps i got a bit fitter lol but thats about it. I dont have dyslexia to my knowledge although i do show signs of it when dore assesed me, my main diagnosis was ADD, Attention Defecit Disorder with some signs of dyslexia. Basically, the reason why you and i struggle so much is because we were born with under-developed brains basically, an under-developed cerrebelum and no amount of medication or change in diet can cure this but the dore programme really does, i cant recommend it enough kelsey, it is well and truly priceless, let your parents read this please cuz i know that it will make big changes in your life as it has for me. I'm not even finished on the programme yet and i can read a book without having to re-read the pages to make it sink in, i can concentrate on things for as long as i need to rather than going off task and day-dreaming like i used to do lol, my confidence has increased loads, im more outgoing with my mates and say yes to things instead of hiding away in my house, i could go on and on kelsey, but trust me it is the only thing that will work for you because it addresses the root of the problem, which is just that u have an under-developed part of your brain known as the cerrebellum. I hope this helps you in making a decision, i really do hope you go through with it, it will be the best money you have ever spent, you will feel like a different person like me and wont struggle anymore with your dyslexia problems :O) Seriousely, if you can persuade your parents to get you on the programme, you should really go for it. Sorry for blabbing on like this but i just feel so on top of the world after being on the dore programme and feel like shouting off the rooftops how good it is! Take care, hope you make the right decision x PS: Don't listen to your mates or anybody else, get one of your mates to go on the programme if they have any kind of learning problem and i guarantee that once they've finished they'll shut there gob lol.

Hi Kelsey I will also reiterate what all the others have said to you, the way I look at it is that it may be expensive at the outset but in the long run it will be the most beneficial money you will ever have to pay.

Think of your life as it is now and the struggles you have to go through daily because of your problems. Dore will change you and your condition, You have no idea of what your true potential is because the dyslexia and other problems you are unaware of are ruled by the Cerebelum Development Delay.

I saw the change in my daughter who had no life prospects and she has matured more than I could ever hope for. She is now learning without the LD's which blighted her life prior to Dore and all those on here and other forums are seeing the same. At the end of the day Kelsey look at it as money you could have used for a holiday but you are using it to help YOU and your future happiness. You may have the memories of a holiday to fall back on but with this it is life changing, so take the bull by the horns and do it. Ellie XXX

    Hi Kelsey,

I cannot encourage you enough to go ahead with this program. My daughter, now age 8. struggled quite a bit last year in school. She cried and was overwhelmed with the class work. She has been doing Dore now for 6 months and her new teacher is amazed that she actually had academic issues last year. She is 'running with the crowd' this year. She still has to try hard but it now pays off. Before it was just hard for her to learn...now she still has to put a the effort out, but she learns!

AS my daughter says, "I feel like I'm a new person at school this year".  It is worth much more than we paid!!
